The Football Association of Zambia-FAZ- says it will engage the relevant bodies over the release of English Premier league Duo PATSON DAKA and ENOCK MWEPU for the Crucial September world cup qualifiers .
This comes after the English Premier league said it’s Clubs have unanimously decided not to release players from countries that are in the red-list due to the COVID-19 Pandemic for national duty in the upcoming FIFA Window .
Currently Zambia’s Top scorer PATSON DAKA is on tabs for Leicester city while Midfielder genius ENOCK MWEPU is with Brighton and Hove Albion in the Epl .
And FAZ Communications Manager SYDNEY MUNGALA has given assurance that the FA will do all within its power to have the duo available for the back-to-back fixtures against Mauritania and Tunisia.
MUNGALA says the FA is hopeful that by engaging the Clubs involved with FIFA intervention that the parties will reach an amicable understanding .
Speaking from Morocco where the team compromising local players are currently camped, He said Morocco and Mauritania are in the safe zone but that the main concern is the home game against Tunisia which will be played in Ndola on the 7th of September .
MUNGALA said the public will be informed of the decisions that will be made as the country has been in a similar situation after Red bull Salzburg withheld the Duo who where later released after FIFA intervention .
He said the FA will pull all strings to ensure that the players are available with hope placed on FIFA that game will be played in a competitive in order to render credence to the 2022 Qatar World Cup fixtures.
MUNGALA said the local players are undergoing routine COVID-19 test to ensure they are on the safe side as they await for foreign based players to join camp in anticipation for their first group B encounter against Mauritania.
He said the aim of the team is to start on a good note so that they can boost the morale among football fans .
